Opera Gala 2011 Opera Gala 2011 (Page 4) Page 1 .... Page 2 .... Page 3.....Page 4
"Everyone looked so magnificent, the gowns at the Gala were so colorful and glittery, a very festive evening and the decor of the Ballroom at the U,S,Grant was sensational . The flowers were absolutely magnificent, as was all the decor and lightening ; and all those authentic chinese lanterns from Beijing, fans, and chopsticks that we bought there and then carted back on the Jacobs plane, really made the room look so marvelous and authentically Chinese. A memorable evening and a wonderful way to begin the 2011 Opera." - Iris Strauss "Saturday night’s opening of the Opera season started with a bravura production of Turnadot. With Ian Campbell at the helm of our Opera company it never disappoints truly only gets better every year. With the gorgeous Hockney sets to compliment the superb vocals it was a feast for the eyes and ears. The theme continued on to a magnificent ballroom produced by Jim Lennox of Pacific Events with the help of Kathryn Gayner floral designer who created the most exquisite and unique floral displays with an Asian flare. The Gala was a sellout thanks to all the patrons and of course the lovely Esther Burnham who drew a crowd as she was being honored for her years of service to the Opera and community. This was the night that the most beautiful gowns were worn. Show stopping dresses were the theme for the night. With Asian food stations and music by Haute Chile the night was made for mingling and dancing. It was beyond doubt the most beautiful Gala the Opera had ever fashioned." - Valerie Cooper Be advised strictly no downloading, publishing, broadcasting, printing, or copying of photos or content.
