Las Patronas Announces New Members, 2010 Net Funds Raised & The 2011 Jewel Ball Theme "I am grateful to all our members and supporters who made "Heart + Soul" such a fun and rewarding experience. I look forward to next year's 'Sapphire' and a little rest!" - Lise Wilson
Las Patronas, those hard working fundraising gals, held their annual Fall Luncheon with 3 purposes. One was to announce the sixteen new members. The 'Sweet Sixteen' are: Shannon Alford, Susan Barrera, Lisa Betyar, Kelly Dorvillier, Elizabeth Estey, Kathryn Gayner, Jennifer Kelly, Suzanne Melvin, Bridget Musante, Debbie Myers, MaryAnne Pintar, Vera Pitrofsky, Mary Powell-Penrith, Nicole Repp, Jacqueline Sheil and Maureen Weber. These new members have 6 years of hard, rewarding work ahead of them... and fun too! Fun too was the 2010 Heart + Soul Jewel Ball held last August. $781, 187.10 was raised for worthy local beneficiaries such as the Friends of Balboa Park, and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, they will get a fire suppression and protection system for permanent collection storage. Bravo to Chair Lise Wilson and Co-chairs Lisa Albanez and Kristi Pieper and all Las Patronas members! Third up was the Jewel Ball 2011 theme announcement. Drawing their inner Oscar performance mettle, Lise Wilson, 2011 Jewel Bal Chair Sue Wagener, 2011 Jewel Ball Co-Chairs Elaine Murphy and Pat Marsch, and assorted LP members got into 'skit mode' for the announcement. After fun razzle dazzle, least of which was Elaine Murphy wearing a 'Minnie Pearl-esque' hat, tags and all, a rousing performance by 'Elvis,' the announcement of Sapphire as the theme came. "I'm looking forward to another year of supporting non-profits around San Diego County and bringing out the best in everyone we touch" said 2011 Jewel Ball Chair Sue Wagener. The Jewel Ball 2011 will take place August 6th, at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. Be advised strictly no downloading, publishing, broadcasting, printing, or copying of photos or content.
