"POSITVELY STUNNING! ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL! INCREDIBLY TALENTED, LEONARD SIMPSON DAZZLED THE BREATHLESS CROWD OF SPELLBOUND LADIES," said Sally B. Thornton. "ST. MADELEINE SOPHIE'S CENTER REAPED THE "BOUNTIFUL BENEFIT" IN EVERY WAY! WE ARE GRATEFULLY THANKFUL! LOVE TO YOU FOR MAKING IT HAPPEN!"
Fashion Forward Producer Leonard Simpson and Honorary Committee Chair Sally B. Thornton
And it was just one of those magical events August 20th, 2011 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. And it was all to benefit St. Madeleine Sophie's Center. The day started with silent auction shopping and champagne, and continued with lunch and a parade of wonderful people from St. Madeleine's, local VIP's, all followed by a very fun fashion show produced by Leonard Simpson and Brittany Simpson of Fashion Forward. "The best coat to put on in life is the one of compassion," pointed out KUSI's Style Guy Leonard Simpson. That's the same Leonard who is head of Fashion Forward. "St. Madeleine's charity does that and more. Thank you San Diego for opening your hearts of gold and giving back." And give they did as hands flew up for auction items like a sapphire and diamond ring designed by Michael Collins. Among the generous crowd there were Honorary Committee members Ramin Pourteymour and Brandie, Claire Reiss, the Honorable Mayor of Chula Vista Cheryl Cox, Sheriff Bill Gore and Natalie Gore, Julie and Tom Karlo, Cheryl Mitchell, Jean Marie and David Mulvaney, Ruth Mulvaney, Evva Fenison, District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis, Lynelle Lynch, University of San Diego President Mary Lyons, and Social Diary's Margo Schwab, Scott Johnston, and Kima.... all were very happy to be part of such a great cause. And great cause it is. St. Madeleine Sophie's Center provides an array of programs to adults who have developmental disabilities. Arts, computer training, organic gardening, fitness, and culinary classes are a few of the wonderful programs provided. Sister Mary Mardel was honored, and Honorary Committee Chairs Jeanne Jones and Don Breitenberg were unable to attend but were there in spirit, SMSC's mission is to empower "adults with developmental disabilities to discover, experience, and realize their full potential as individuals and members of the greater community." "A way of life...a world of difference." Be advised strictly no downloading, publishing, broadcasting, printing, or copying of photos or content. Please email purchase requests of photos you are in. Enjoy the Photos!
