Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell Run / Walk

with Arthritis Dog Honoree Kima!!

“The warm San Diego weather set the scene for over 1450 runners and walkers who were participating in the 18th Annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk.  The participants raised over $82,000 to support the work of the Arthritis Foundation. The staff and volunteers of the Arthritis Foundation were delighted with the success of the event and appreciate the help of the community." - Sandra Hayhurst, M.A., Senior Program Director Arthritis Foundation, Pacific Region, San Diego Office

December 11th, 2010, four legged and two legged participants of the 18th Annual Jingle Bell Run/ Walk got moving, and all for a great cause. The Jingle Bell Run/ Walk 2010 raised over $82,000 to educate the public about arthritis, arthritis prevention, and research breakthroughs.

Kima, the German Boxer / Service Dog, was thrilled to be announced as the Arthritis Dog Honoree for the 3rd year. Fyi, a lot of educational outreach outings with Kima are being planned for 2011. You see arthritis is not just an older person's disease, it affects children and animals too! Understanding, compassion and prevention are a big part of the Arthritis Foundation's goals.

Among the attendees were Kelly Wagner (with her husband Norm) of the Arthritis Regional Office and a crowd of very enthusiastic supporters. Run / walkers came in elf wear and sneakers, a giant Christmas stocking for one, and a few brave guys came in sneakers and speedos!

Dogs also came dressed to 'paws for a cause' with 'antlers,' santa wear, and a few with very pretty bows!
