San
Diego Upcoming Celebrity Fundraisers for Great Causes
by
the Social Diary Columnist
David Mirisch
Column #6, July 24th, 2006
Of the 40 fund raising events
that I do each year for non-profit
organizations I am happy to do a few of them in my own city. This
fall I
will be doing two golf tournaments at Lomas Santa Fe Country Club
in Solana
Beach.
They will be on Monday, September 18 and this will be a benefit
for Athletes
Helping Athletes and sponsored by Imaging Health Care Specialists
and Road
Runner Sports. Entry fee is $325 and all of the proceeds will
go to
providing hand-cycles to children with disabilities. Two of the
celebrities
participating in the tournament will be local North County residents
Greg
Welch, who is a 4-time world triathlon champion and a member of
the Ironman
Hall of Fame and Steve Hegg, who has won 13 US National Cycling
Championships.

The second event will be held on Monday,
October 2 and all proceeds will go
to keep the wonderful San Diego Automotive Museum in Balboa Park
operating.
One of the 25 celebrities will be San Diego resident, Boris Said,
who is one
of the hottest race car drivers in the country. He recently placed
fourth
in the Pepsi 400 race at Daytona. He is starting to make a name
for himself
on the highly touted NASCAR circuit. Entry fee into this tournament
is
$200.00 per player.
If any of you are interested in participating
in either of these two
tournaments give me a call at (760) 632-7770 or send me an e-mail
at
david@dmirisch.com. They will two days of good golf with lots
of great
gifts and prizes. And what's most important is, they are both
for worthy
causes. Hope to see you there.
