Greetings
Crime Stoppers Supporters--
I wanted to let you know about
two important arrests that occurred with help from our local media.
Every week, Crime Stoppers works with News 8 and the San Diego
Union-Tribune to profile a dangerous criminal wanted by San Diego
law enforcement. Our goal in publicizing these cases is to get
tips from the public leading to an arrest.
Last week media attention made that happen.
A wanted sex offender with a history of robbery, drug dealing
and associating with gang members was arrested for violating the
terms of his parole. After seeing Kerry Cassidy's picture on television
and in the newspaper, a tipster called Crime Stoppers with Cassidy's
location. Crime Stoppers worked closely with the tipster to help
officers safely apprehend the suspect.
Just a few weeks ago, coverage from News
8 and the Union Tribune led to the arrest of Joseph Hill. Hill
is also a registered sex offender with long criminal history—he
was wanted for a parole violation. Our tipster saw that Joseph
Hill was wanted and called Crime Stoppers with information that
led to his arrest.
Crime Stoppers thanks News 8 and the Union
Tribune for their commitment to our community--together we are
making San Diego safer everyday!
