P.A.W.S Pedigree Patron Party 2008

The very special Pedigree Patron Party for P.A.W.S. took place May 18th, at the exquisite hilltop estate of Judy and Jack White. In fact it is the highest home in La Jolla with 360 degree views. And on this day, 'King of the hill canine Cody,' Judy and Jack's beautiful black Standard poodle, wasn't the only one enjoying a mood of canine and feline support.

Because animal support is what P.A.W.S, aka Pets Are Wonderful Support, is all about. As such, a lot of patrons came to the pre-event patron party at the White's home.

Among the mix were Co-Chairs Esther Nahama and Matthew Midgett, Reinette and Marvin Levine, Bob Baily, Cheri Birccio, David Shaw, Don Caulfield, Veryl Mortenson, Doreen and Myron Schonbrun, Sally and John Thornton, Mary Ellen Bloomingdale, Kris Lamans, Merrylyn Ross, Mary Walker, and Carol Karlovich.

Carol is a devoted PAWS supporter. She hosted the Pedigree Party last year at her ocean view estate a few doors away.

More supporting the cause were Alberto Cortes of Mama's Kitchen, Yolanda Fleet, Patti and Coop Cooprider, Lola and Walter Green, Dianne York-Goldman, VMD Deb Hofler, Bill Nanninga, Sally and John Thornton, Margo Schwab and Scott Johnston, Kima in absentia, Cindy and Tom Goodman, Doreen and Myron Schonbrun, and Jordan.

That's the famous 'Art Coutue' designer Jordan who creates wearable and coveted designs that are hand painted and or digitally memoraliized by her. The theme predominantly is animals.The creations are spectacular.

As such Jeanne Jones wore a winged yellow butterfly motif by Jordan. Jordan wore a beautiful Cheetah ensemble. Margo Schwab, this humbled reporter, was honored to wear a Jordan too. The motif was a giraffe who went from front to back on the top.

But we modeled for a purpose. Jordan generously donated 25% of any purchase to P.A.W.S. .... and that's for any purchase tied into the P.A.W.S.'s events for a year's time.

This is typical animal loving and supporting Jordan. She has rescued a number of dogs at a time. She used to have 12, she currently has 5 along with a few horses. Jordan even rescued a cow a few years back.

And that is the type of giving spirit that abounded at this patron's party.

Guests enjoyed catering by Contessa's Kitchen, vintages by Major Market.

Animal loving talk was de rigeur.

Newcomer sponsor of the event Dianne York-Goldman loved the organization's focus for animals so much that she is planning a 'Beauty and the Beast' dog event outside of La Jolla Spa MD on August 3rd, 2008. With the P.A.W.S. cause in mind of course!

Schwab attended Holton Arms School, La Jolla Country Day School and La Jolla High School. Schwab has a B.A. from Scripps College, spent a business internship with S.A.I.C., Science Applications International Corporation, and earned a Masters of Business degree, M.B.A., from the University of San Diego.
