A Little Zandra Rhodes' Stardust Glamour!'

Fans of International Designer Zandra Rhodes flocked to the Westgate Hotel for her annual chic fashion luncheon October 21st, 2010. This year the theme was Stardust Glamour.

Among the fashionable set there were newlywed Natasha Reiss Johnson (her wedding gown was designed by Zandra) with her mother Claire Reiss, Ann Campbell of the San Diego Opera, Lael Kovtun, Mary Walker, Joyce and Craigar Grosvenor, Rachel Grosvenor, stylist Linda Drabova, Reinette Levine, Esther Nahama, and Pat O'Connor of Fashion Careers College or FCC.

Models prowled the runway in provocative and colorful designs by Zandra, accessorized with jewelry by Tamara Strauss and hat designs by Diana Cavagnaro. Four legged models were adorned by Tamara Strauss's jewelry.

Zandra described her collection as "timeless tops, easy eveningwear, mixed print short kaftan dresses in satin and Chiffon, organza tops and evening jackets. All garments are hand printed and made in London."

Guests enjoyed a phenomenal light lunch by The Westgate Hotel followed by some serious shopping.

Proceeds from the luncheon benefit The American Friends of the Zandra Rhodes Museum (AFZRM).

By the way, Zandra Rhodes currently has a showing of her retrospective exhibition: Zandra Rhodes A Lifelong Love Affair with Textiles at the Mingei International Museum. The exhibit runs through April 3rd, 2011.

* Margo Schwab, more formally known as Margaret E. Schwab, has produced, written, interviewed and photographed for various media organizations since 1989. Schwab attended Holton Arms School, La Jolla Country Day School and La Jolla High School. Schwab has a B.A. from Scripps College, spent a business internship with S.A.I.C., Science Applications International Corporation, and earned a Masters of Business degree, M.B.A., from the University of San Diego by way of Claremont Graduate School . Schwab additionally took college courses from Harvard University, and Syracuse University. Schwab volunteers for numerous charity organizations. She also continues to support animal organizations and the prevention of people and animal abuse. Schwab is the editor of The Social Diary.
