BACKLOT HOLLYWOOD.............Lights, Camera, San Diego!

The theme of the special exhibit is Filming San Diego: Hollywood's Backlot Moviemaking in San Diego 1898-2002.... and it's fabulous! All at the San Diego Historical Society in San Diego's Balboa Park.

The retrospective exhibit takes you from silent movies shot in San Diego, through a history of movie posters, costumes, props, cameras and more to the present.

At the opening of the exhibit, San Diego Historical members and special guests were greeted with a red carpet entrance to the party.

There to enjoy the moment were Honorary Chair, Oscar Award Winner and just really nice guy, Cliff Robertson, Executive Director of the San Diego Historical Society Bob Witty, Event Chair Pat Jacoby, Co-Chairman Barbara Daly and a cast of a hundred guests including:

Fabulous actress Nanette Fabray, San Diego Film Commissioner Cathy Anderson, the guy who should be in pictures Tom Blair, Editor of San Diego Magazine, Nell Waltz, Jennifer Whitelaw, Claudia and Bill Allen and Shelley Stefanyzn.

Entertainment was provided by the Teeny-Tiny Pit Orchestra for Silent Films. Sponsors included Sempra Energy and Four Square Productions (producers of the Killer Tomato Movies).
