UCP Dia Del Sol

"The Beach & Country Guild's 2011 Dia Del Sol event shined at the Grand Del Mar on October 26th. Guests enjoyed champagne while browsing the Silent Auction items and shopping the luxury boutiques. The event progressed with a UCP Nordstrom Childten's Fashion Show, a standing ovation for the guest speaker and concluded with a high-style Runway Fashion Show.... It was a truly spectacular event benefiting UCP of San Diego!" - Andrene Dziubinski, Event Co-Chair

The United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego held their 46th Annual Dia Del Sol August 26th in the grand ballroom at the Grand Del Mar Ocober 26th, 2011.

Hundreds of guests flocked to a day of shopping for a cause, a perfect light lunch, and stellar fashion modeling. Highlights were the very adorable UCP children with Will Kellogg among them.

Guest speaker Jessica Smith demonstrated why she is tops in motivational speaking. In her words "I try to get across to people that even though I am in a wheelchair, I try to take the “dis” out of disability. After all, If You Believe it, You Can Achieve It. Right?"

And with that positive spirit in mind, guests bid big on items like a Seaborn cruise, and a luxurious stay at the Grand Del Mar.

Among the supporters were Maria Parnell, Jane Benton, Gerry Coleman, Cele Huntzinger, Kathy Henry, Jan Kahler, Carole Morrison, Angela Sharma, Marie Green in honor of Colleen Clayton, Florence Cohen in honor of Lynn Owen, Terri Davis, Shelia Chue, Carr family. Lisa Pederson, Sally Busby, Kelly Billmeyer, Heather Scherer, Amy Wynne, Becky Mezzino, Joyce Burns, Craig Maddox, Kim Thaeler, Lisa Watson, Allison Roesser, Kim Behnam, CC Haynor, Karen Chatfield, Carrie Butler, and Julie Witous.

More there supporting the cause included Tiffany Mahoney, Maggie Watkins, Sofia Alsadek, Kim Smart, Michelle Gurnee, Colleen Angelucci, Fred Kellogg with his son Will Kellogg, and Stephanie Lyons who brought her fabulous line of Nicole Miller clothing which was later modeled.

Big applause to Colleen Clayton, Andrene Dziubinski, Angela Sharma, and Sheila Chue.
