2012 Seacrest Village's 'Magical Moments' Gala

The 34th Annual Women's Auxiliary Gala named 'Magical Moments!' took place February 11th, 2012 at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa. The evening benefits the Seacrest Village Retirement Communities' mission "to provide excellence and quality of life while embracing traditional Jewish and cultural values."

Guests for this evening included Women's Auxiliary President Mary Epsten and her husband Jon Epsten, Joan and Irwin Jacobs, Jeri-Ann and Gary Jacobs, Nancy and Micky Gordon, Lee and Frank Goldberg, Sally and John Thornton, Sheila and Jeff Lipinsky, Susan Ulevitch, Alberta Feurzeig, Melissa and Michael Bartell, and the Event Chairs Cindy and Larry Bloch.

Also there were Honorees Lisa and Gary Levine who have done so much for Seacrest Village Retirement Communities.

More there supporting the cause were Emma and Leo Zuckerman. Emma wore black Carolina Hererra and Leo accessorized with a cane. He is in recovery from a pelvis fracture.

Still more there were Lael and Jay Kovtun, Jane Ottenstein, she chaired last year's event, Marilyn and Roger Boesky, Pauline Foster, and Doreen and Myron Schonbrun.

Myron had an extra reason to celebrate. It was his birthday as well.

The fun continued with dinner, a magical show by America's Got Talent winner Murray Sawchuck (now a headliner in Las Vegas), and dancing to Society Beat.

Guest Steven Judith had this to say. "The philanthropic generosity of the families and friends of Seacrest Village is greatly appreciated.  The work being done by Seacrest is a testimony to not only the commitment families have to their communities, but also the lost art of caring for our Elders who have so richly given of themselves and their wisdom, for so many years of their lives to all of us."

Longtime patron Lee Goldberg added this. "The importance of Seacrest Village is best said by a quote by Abraham Joshua Herschel: 'A test of a people is how it behaves toward the old.  It is easy to love children.  Even tyrants and dictators make a point of being fond of children.  But the affection and care for the old, the incurables, the helpless are the true gold mines of a culture.' The number of elderly who need care, and a home rises every year, we must take care of them!"

Guests took home a white and dark chocolate rabbit in a top hat...Magical Moments indeed!
